Green Ride & Green Fleet

Ecology and Environment has used GIS to develop two programs that deal with managing ride sharing to save economic, environmental, and emissions resources. Green Ride is a web based application that allows the general public to enter their trip parameters and look for ride sharing partners that have the same commute pattern. Green Fleet is a web based management tool that allows organizations with a fleet of vehicles to more efficiently use their transportation resources through ride sharing. The details behind how these programs were implemented and how GIS was used was discussed.
