David Kruse, Community Planner, SRF & Associates

Active Transportation is a hot topic in local and regional planning; it encompasses modes of transportation other than the personal motor vehicle.  Climate change, fuel prices, and public health considerations have communities across the nation re-thinking transportation networks and infrastructure to better accommodate pedestrian and bicycle mobility, as well as public transit.  GIS is a critical tool being used by decision makers to take inventory of existing conditions and target priority improvements in the transportation network.
